Authentic Blog Success Story: #4 on Google in 7 Days

Recently, I worked with a client on launching a Wordpress blog to promote her products and services.  Within 1 week of launching her blog, her blog was listed #4 on Google for her desired keyword.

This client already has a GOOD idea of who her target audience is, and has been developing products and services for years for that audience.  So when we  began our work, we could skip the preliminaries of “who is your target audience” and get down to doing what is known as “keyword research”.

Keywords are simply the words your potential clients or customers are using to find products and services on the internet.  Registering a domain name with the “right” keywords can results in hundreds of visitors to your self hosted wordpress blog… even if you don’t have any content posted there!!!!

There was a time when I would have listed the link to the powerhouse keyword research tool here.   However, based on the success this client had using that tool (and the success I’ve had using it as well), and the fact that another popular keyword tool USED to be this good and now isn’t because it’s too popular… I’m going to reserve sharing that resource with people who sign up for the 8 Week Blog Power Launch.

Focusing on the “right” keywords means focusing on keywords that your customers are actually using to find your products and services on the internet.  So, our research focused on finding out exactly what those keywords are for her.  Our research revealed that the keywords “Hypnosis and Diet” were getting a LOT of search action yet very FEW sites were competing for that keyword phrase.  Now, this is important, BECAUSE THIS KEYWORD COMBINATION DESCRIBES EXACTLY THE PRODUCTS MY CLIENT IS OFFERING,  I encouraged her to pick up the domain name.

We launched her Wordpress self hosted blog under Hypnosis and Diet.  I uploaded my cadre of plug ins to improve the blog’s search engine friendliness and I tweaked her permalink structure as well.  She chose to use the insanely customizable Revolution Theme to the blog, created her content in less than 2 days and VIOLA!  Her site was launched and sky rocketed to the top of the Google listings.

Of course, this “overnight success” has been years in the making.  My client has been working with individual clients for years and created these products for her clients.  Through her work with her own clients, she knows what they want.  (That’s how she knew which keywords to focus upon.)

Now, she’s offering the products that have worked for her clients for sale to others as well.

This client, a well seasoned veteran of the “single page sales page website” is now an enthusiastic believer in blogs as Content Management Tools.

When you’re getting ready to launch your blog, the domain name makes ALL the difference.  Be sure to choose a domain name with keywords your target audience will use to find your information on the internet.  (Said the woman who named her business Virtual Impax in 1997.  It’s a horrible domain name.  Notice the domain name of this site in comparison!)
